Generating one good panel is easy. Generating eight in which the same person is recognisably the same person is the entire problem, and it is what separates a storyboard from a mood board.

The core problem
Why panel four stops looking like panel one
An image model has no memory between generations. Each panel is drawn from scratch, guided only by the words it was given, so “a woman in a red coat” produces a different woman every time. Everything tools do about this is an attempt to carry information from one generation into the next, and they carry different amounts of it.
What gets carried over
- A reference image of the character, supplied once and reused
- A fixed seed, which holds style steady but not identity
- A named, reusable character the tool stores for you
- The previous panel, used as the starting image for the next
What tends to drift anyway
- Clothing detail — buttons, logos, exact shade
- Age, build and hair, especially at a different distance
- Secondary characters, which rarely get a reference
- The location, once you cut back to it

None of these are tricks; they are how people who use these tools for real work get a board out the door.

Design the character first
Generate the person on their own until you have one you can live with, then use that image as the reference for every panel. The board becomes a series of variations rather than eight independent attempts.

Describe them the same way every time
Keep a fixed block of wording for each character and change only the action and the framing. Rewriting the description is how a character quietly ages between panels.

Favour distance over detail
Wider framing is more forgiving, because there is less face to disagree about. Boards that lean on close-ups fight the technology hardest.

Accept the style, not the likeness
A board exists to communicate framing, blocking and rhythm to other people. Panels that agree on tone and composition do that job even when the face wanders a little.
